What landlords and agents check at move-out
Inspections usually start in the kitchen and bathroom, where grease and limescale are easy to spot. Put these at the top of the cleaner's list.
- Oven, hob, and extractor hood degreased, racks and trays cleaned, and the fridge and freezer emptied, defrosted if needed, and wiped dry inside.
- Bathrooms descaled: taps, shower screen, tiles and grout, the toilet including its base, plus the washing machine drawer and door seal if the machine belongs to the landlord.
- Inside every kitchen cupboard, wardrobe, and drawer, then skirting boards, doors, light switches, window interiors, tracks, sills, and fly screens.
- Verandas and balconies swept and washed where the building allows, and AC filters rinsed so the next tenant does not start with a year of dust.
