Changeovers for hosts and property managers

Holiday rental and Airbnb cleaning in Cyprus

Same-day changeovers between check-out and check-in, with linen, restocking, and a photo report before the next guest arrives. Independent cleaners in Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and the Famagusta free area (Ayia Napa, Protaras, Paralimni) list Holiday rentals or Short-term rentals as specialties. Hosts agree a per-visit price and checklist with them directly.

  • A written changeover checklist the cleaner follows every time, so an August guest finds the same standard as one in April.
  • Photos of each room, plus any damage or missing items, sent before the next check-in while there is still time to act.
  • A clear agreement on who supplies and washes linen and towels, and who restocks toiletries, coffee, and cleaning products.

How it works

Plan your ideal visit

Each section on the right is a “slide” you can skim. Scroll the column to move through scope, fit, and extras without losing your place.

1/4Turnover

The changeover checklist

Write the list once, add photos of how the beds and kitchen should look, and give the same version to every cleaner who covers the property.

  • Strip the beds and collect used towels, then remake every bed with fresh linen to match your photos, including the sofa bed if guests used it.
  • Kitchen: dishes washed and put away, guest leftovers cleared from the fridge, hob, microwave, and kettle wiped, and the coffee machine emptied and refilled with capsules.
  • Bathrooms cleaned and dried so no water marks show on glass or chrome, hair cleared from drains, and toilet rolls, soap, and shampoo set out.
  • Floors vacuumed and mopped, sand cleared from balconies and door tracks, bins taken to the building's bin area, and keys and AC remotes counted.
2/4Supplies

Linen, laundry and restocking

Agree the linen arrangement before the first changeover: who owns it, who washes it, and where clean sets are kept.

  • Keep at least three sets of linen and towels per bed: one on the bed, one in the wash, and one ready. Some cleaners take laundry away for an extra charge.
  • If washing happens on site, check the machine and dryer can handle a full changeover. Sheets dry fast on a veranda in July, but not on a wet day in January.
  • Keep a locked owner's cupboard with toilet roll, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, toiletries, and welcome items, and a stock list so the cleaner can flag what is running low.
  • Decide whether the cleaner buys supplies and adds them to the invoice with receipts, or whether you restock the cupboard yourself on a set day.
3/4Access

Damage reports, key boxes and smart locks

The cleaner is usually the first person inside after guests leave. Agree how they report problems and how they get in.

  • Ask for photos of every room after each clean, with close-ups of damage, stains, or missing items, sent the same day so you can raise a claim within the platform's deadline.
  • Key boxes suit villas and houses. In apartment blocks, check whether the management committee allows them on railings or near the entrance before fitting one.
  • A smart lock lets you give the cleaner a separate code, change it at any time, and see when they arrived and left.
  • Show the cleaner the water stopcock, the fuse box, and the solar water heater switch, so a leak or a cold tank can be reported and fixed before guests arrive.
4/4Season

Saturdays, peak season and outdoor areas

Summer demand in Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa, and Protaras is high, and weekend changeovers are the first slots to go. Arrange cover in spring.

  • Saturday is the main changeover day for many holiday homes. Line up a regular cleaner and a backup by April, and avoid same-day turnovers you have no one to cover.
  • Pools and hot tubs need a pool technician for water treatment. Cleaners can skim leaves, wipe sun loungers, and wash the terrace where drainage allows.
  • Verandas, barbecues, and outdoor showers collect sand and grease quickly in summer. Add them to the checklist with a time estimate so the changeover still fits the gap.
  • Out of season, many properties close or switch to longer stays. A monthly airing visit keeps damp, dust, and insects under control between bookings.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Airbnb cleaning cost in Cyprus?

Holiday rental cleaners usually charge per changeover rather than by the hour. As a reference from the marketplace, apartment changeovers run about €40–€60 in Larnaca and €45–€70 in Limassol, while Paphos villa changeovers are around €70–€110. Off-site laundry, restocking, and large outdoor areas can add to that. Agree the price per visit directly with the cleaner and build it into your cleaning fee.

How long does a holiday rental changeover take?

A one-bedroom apartment usually takes one cleaner about two hours, including making the beds. Larger apartments take three to four hours, and villas with terraces and several bathrooms often need two cleaners working together to finish between an 11:00 check-out and a 15:00 check-in. Set your listing's check-in and check-out times with that window in mind.

Who supplies linen and towels for holiday rental cleaning?

Usually the host. You buy and own the linen and towels, and the cleaner changes them at each turnover. Washing is the part to agree: some cleaners launder on site, some take it away for an extra charge, and some hosts use a separate laundry service. Keep spare sets in a locked cupboard so a late laundry delivery never holds up a check-in.

Can I find a cleaner for Saturday changeovers in Limassol, Paphos, or Ayia Napa?

Yes, but start early. Summer Saturdays are in heavy demand, so contact cleaners in Limassol, Paphos, or the Famagusta free area (Ayia Napa, Protaras, Paralimni) by spring. Agree a backup as well, because a cleaner covering several properties on the same Saturday has little room for a late check-out or a delayed laundry run.

What should the cleaner report after each changeover?

Agree a short message with photos: each room as it was left, any damage or stains, missing items, faulty appliances, low supplies, and anything unusual such as a leak under the sink or a tripped fuse. Time-stamped photos help if you need to make a claim through the booking platform, which normally sets a time limit.
